I’m back from my holiday trip to Seattle.  Here is a video that I shot while I was there, with a new video camera that I got.  I can’t embed an HD version, which my new camera shoots in, so go here to see the HD version.

So, it’s been awhile since I have posted. But that is for good reason; I have just recently gotten back from China and Korea, where I went with a class for the Gwangju Biennale, Busan Biennale, Seoul New Media Biennale and Shanghai Biennale. Our dean, Okwui Enwezor, was the Artistic Director of this year’s Gwangju Biennale, so he took it as an opportunity to lead a class in exploring the bourgeoning contemporary art landscape in Asia, with a special focus on spectacle and the incredible number of biennales taking place there. It was a great trip, much more cultural than the last one I went on with him, and we even found time to go to Beijing and view the aftermath of the Olympics.

I’m back from Seattle, done with the holidays, and eager to get going on some new projects. I hope to get some of the things that I have finished up (more of a matter of figuring out how to document them, and how best to showcase that in a blog setting), as well as finish off some things that I have been working and get those up. I’m back from Reno. The conference was fun. We got to meet a lot of cool people, see a lot of interesting things, and hopefully we can do it again next year in Austin. I got to nerd out for a few days, and not worry about art and The Larger Dialog. A nice break before finals, really, despite the fact that we all got very little sleep the whole time.
