My friend Mego, né Meghan, surprised me and came into town this Friday, for an opening that I had. Last night we were able to finally catch up on the last year or so of goings on.

The Blood Brothers, who are old, good friends of mine, were in town tonight, so I got to see them. Which was a nice excuse to take a break for doing schoolwork. I don’t get to see them that often, as they still live in Seattle, and I haven’t for about six years or so, but I get to see them a few times a year when they come through on tour.

This is kind of blowing my mind right now.

Things have been kind of quiet on here of late because I have been working on a lot of school stuff (such as teaching myself After Effects and PD), as well as for some upcoming shows. I will post the details for the shows when I have them, as well as info about my trip to Europe this summer for the Venice Biennale, Art Basel, Documenta, and Skulptur Münster.

Kurt Vonnegut died yesterday. I remember the summer when I was 15, reading Cat’s Cradle and from that becoming inspired to read almost all of the rest of his books over the next couple of months. I’m sad to see him go.

I have finally had time to get some shooting in after a couple of weeks of pretty intense work.  The frustrating thing about practicing art is that for the majority of people, it is usually something that you do in addition to other things.  So even though I am in art school, sometimes finding the time to actually do art with all the other things that school and work require can be hard.  But such is life.
